Stuff Selects “The 25 Best Games” of the 2010s

The writers at Stuff Magazine love a good Best Games list. Want more proof? The long-running “lad mag” delivered their verdict on the “100 Greatest Games” in 2008, the “100 Best Games Ever” in 2011, the “Best Games Ever” in 2014, and “The 50 Greatest Games of All Time” in 2017.

So even though they closed up shop in the US more than a decade ago, it wasn’t much of a surprise when Stuff’s UK branch pushed out “Stuff of the Decade: The 25 Best Games” earlier this week.

Stuff didn’t stray too far away from the conventional wisdom when they selected The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as the best game of the decade. Nintendo’s open-world adventure was followed by Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us (#2), From Software’s Dark Souls (#3), Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 (#4), and CD Projekt’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Big games filled out the majority of Stuff’s list, but a few smaller titles managed to impress the outlet’s editors as well, including Celeste (#15), Stardew Valley (#16), Tetris Effect (#22), and What Remains of Edith Finch (#23).
